SPOT UV OVERGLOSS
Spot UV has enjoyed growing popularity. It gives you a glossy varnish effect over part of your item. This could be used to highlight a picture or logo or just over a solid colour to create a great matt vs gloss contrast. Another option is ‘high build’ spot UV which gives a raised surface to the gloss giving a texture to the design. This can be used in all sorts of creative ways.
FEATURES OF THIS PROCESS
- Spot UV produces beautiful high gloss areas over matt printing, giving many creative options for your products
- Spot UV can be a great way to create a more modern look than other choices like foil and letterpress
- Great for business cards and business stationery
- Spot UV works best on a laminated or coated surface
- With uncoated and spongy stocks the varnish tends to soak in and the effect is lost as a result. If you want this result on an uncoated stock it is better to use clear foil.
- Spot UV area is best contained within the design so trimming is not required
